Biography

Ronen Ashkenazi - The 16th North Sea Offshore Crane and Lifting ConferenceDr. Ronen Ashkenazi is the technical manager and owner of M.R.E Matron Rope & Wire Rope Engineering.

Dr. Ronen Ashkenazi was conducting the Ph. D degree at the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technion – Israel Institute of Technology Technion City – Haifa: The Mechanical Behavior and Fatigue Life of Wire Ropes.

M.R.E. was established by Dr. Ronen at 2005, while being oriented to focus on the needs and interests of the rope end user: i.e. rope performance and service life, inspection procedures, safety and rope selection. Dr. Ronen Ashkenazi is specializing in deep Koepe and drum winders mining applications, heavy duty cranes, and suspension means for high rise elevators. Specific fatigue machines were developed in order to provide test benches for the simulation of the specific loading cycle under these complicated applications.

Dr. Ronen Ashkenazi is a qualified crane inspector and spent major time in cranes and field rope inspections in the industry and in critical hoisting operations. M.R.E is also participating in the developing and application of high performance fibers in ropes for lifting and elevation applications where self weight is a critical parameter. Among M.R.E. clients are: leading worldwide elevator company, Israel electrical company, Israel Aerospace Industry, leading worldwide rope and wire manufacturers, and mining companies.
